| الملخص: | The Institute of the Daughters of Mary (Immaculate) was founded in May 1816, by Adèle de Batz de Trenquelléon. Between that date and the death of Adele in January of 1828, over 135 women entered the Congregation, at least as postulants ... All of these more than 135 women were part of Adele's life ... what follows is an attempt to recreate some of them, using mostly Adele's own letters, so as to populate her world with the persons who were in fact part of it during the twelve years she spent in the cloister of the convent ... This work is concerned only with the twelve years Adele was in the convent, 1816-1828, and does not intend to present complete biographies of any of these persons ... It is presumed that the reader is familiar with the biography of Adele and therefore the context in which these women lived. General background information is not repeated in this work. |
