They contain transcribed typewritten excerpts of writings on the Blessed Virgin including prayers, poetry, the Litany of Loreto, and daily consecrations to Mary. All journals contain printed images such as holy cards and clippings that accompany many of the entries. Biographical/Historical note Two journals may have been created by Olga Wesselkamper, born 1913 in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. She attended the Academy of Our Lady, graduating in 1931 and was married to Frank Imwalle. She passed away in 1996. Her name was found on a card inside one of the pair of journals. The creator of the other journal is unknown. Scope and Contents This collection contains three bound journals, each approximately 7" x 5", which document personal piety and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Two of the journals have the same provenance; they appear to be created circa 1920s, one is titled, The Day, Week, Month, and Year Consecrated to Mary; the other is untitled and 323 pages long. The journals contain transcribed typewritten excerpts of writings on the Blessed Virgin Mary, prayers, poetry, some original writing on the life of Mary, and images, holy cards, and clippings that accompany many of the entries. The third journal appears to have been created circa 1950s; it contains the Litany of Loreto and holy cards that correspond to the entries. Processing Information This collection was processed by Jillian Slater in 2011. Access This collection is open and available to the public for research in the Marian Library reading room.
