Description
Résumé:In this richly illustrated work, the author Knud Torm seeks to demonstrate, using Danish medieval works of art, that the Virgin Mary's biography can be adequately written from birth to death and ascension, despite gaps in the Bible. The works of art are reviewed in chronological order within each chapter, i.e. from Romanesque to late Gothic times. The overall aim of the book is to stimulate the already existing and increasing interest in the Danish Middle Ages and the unique cultural heritage from that time.
