The content is believed to be pictographic writing which can be interpreted in Nahuatl as well as in Spanish. Cf. Cortés Castellanos, J. El catecismo en pictogramas de fray Pedro de Gante (1987). "Una edición facsímil, de 980 ejemplares, numerados del 1 al 980, con destino al mercade ... en coedición con la Biblioteca Nacional, Quinto Centenario, El Navegante Editores, Testimonio Compañía Editorial ...
