總結: | As the education system continues to examine the inequities of marginalized students and
focus on culture, incorporating the research to help teachers adopt new practices and embrace the
change for the diverse student population is critical. Culturally and linguistically responsive
teaching starts with teachers’ willingness to acknowledge their biases around different cultures
and recognizing the impact. What does the research literature say on effective culturally and
linguistic high impact practices and implementation of strategies into the classroom? The
research has a strong knowledge, belief, and foundation on the importance of culturally and
linguistically responsive teaching practices. Utilizing classrooms as learning spaces for
educators to observe, feel and explore how CLR can build on students’ strengths, while teachers
addressing the different needs of their students. Further research needs to be considered on how
teachers effectively implement CLR strategies, protocols, and philosophies into the classroom.
The reality in education is that changing the approach to culturally and linguistically responsive
teaching builds partnership with the families and students in school communities and
acknowledges their culturally backgrounds and experiences. |
