Description
Summary:Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart's publication of "The Echo" pictured the Edgewood girls' gym class, Fall 1928. The article stated "The Edgewood girls met again in the Fall of 1928 to renew the gym classes which had proved so popular the previous year. Two sections were formed, one of the underclassmen, and the other of Juniors, Seniors, and College Freshmen. The activities of the classes depended upon the season; indoor baseball, basketball and volleyball were played. With the coming of Spring, track has been started; the girls busy themselves with field events, such as the standing and running broad jump, baseball and basketball throws, and the like. The gym class is another organization that is growing with Edgewood; if it continues to develop as it has during the past two years, the time will come when the girls as well as the boys will be the proud wearers of the school emblem.”
