Achoimre: | Fr. Winters, S.J. was born on November 3, 1907 in Stapleton, Staten Island, New York. He taught the classics at Loyola College, Baltimore, and Fordham University, before coming to Georgetown in 1950. At Georgetown, he became assistant director of the observatory and of the University's radio program, Georgetown University Forum and, from 1956-1968, was administrative assistant to the President. Present are manuscripts, student notes in Rhetoric and Greek, family photographs, and a number of clippings of Fr. Winters' articles from his tenure as associate editor of the Messenger of the Sacred Heart. |
