Die falschen und fingierten Druckorte, v. 1, p. 263, also p. vii) and to Louis Elzevier of Amsterdam (cf. Willems, A. Les Elzevier, no. 1035). Signatures: *⁴ a-q¹² r⁸. Engraved title page features the Muse of poetry seated in a forest, holding a caduceus, and to her right, a seated male figure wearing a winged cap (Mercury?), playing bagpipes. Tail-pieces; initials. Leaves a4, b10, and q3 missigned a5, b5, and p3, respectively. Verso of t.p. and pages [74] and [110] are blank. Pages [380], [381], and [384] are misnumbered 379, 380, and 383, respectively (i.e., the page number 379 is used twice and the number 381 is omitted). |
