520 |a Interview conducted for Voices from the Catholic Worker. Catherine Morris describes running the Los Angeles Catholic Worker with her husband, Jeff Dietrich. She discusses her background and what drew her to the Catholic Worker, living and working at the house with other volunteers, and how she met and married Dietrich. She outlines the many community projects of the house, including Justice Bakery and a law center, and how tensions between the Catholic Worker's vow of poverty and money making led to division. Ultimately, a mission and vision statement was drafted for the house. Morris also discusses being married at the Catholic Worker, her personality, and spending time in jail with Dorothy Day during the 1973 United Farm Workers Strike in Calif. Interviewed by Rosalie Riegle Troester. Interruptions in audio present in original recording. Order of transcript narrative varies from audio recording.
