He then discusses working on Maryfarm in Easton, Pa. before attempting to register as a conscientious objector for World War II. He discusses the problems he faced in registering as a CO, including being arrested by the FBI, and how he was eventually drafted into service. He then discusses moving to a Catholic Worker farm in Michigan before finally settling at the Peter Maurin Farm in Marlboro, N.Y. Throughout the interview he discusses the importance of farming for the Catholic Worker Movement. Interviewed by Rosalie Riegle Troester. Interruptions in audio present in original recording.
