Martin begins by talking about what drew him to the Catholic Worker as well as registering as a conscientious objector in World War II. Martin and Gertrude then talk about founding a communal farm in Missouri. Later they talk about leaving the farm, raising a family, and moving to Boyne City, Michigan. They also talk about traveling with Peter Maurin, and give their thoughts on the Catholic Church. Interviewed by Rosalie Riegle Troester. Interruptions in audio present in original recording.
