Martin begins by talking about what drew him to the Catholic Worker as well as registering as a conscientious objector in World War II. Martin and Gertrude then talk about founding a communal farm in Missouri. Later they talk about leaving the farm, raising a family, and moving to Boyne City, Michigan.
