Summary:Interview conducted for Dorothy Day : portraits by those who knew her. Father Harvey Egan and Bob Tavani discuss Dorothy Day, the Catholic Worker Movement, and the Catholic Church. Tavani begins the tape by briefly discussing his involvement with the Worker and Day. Egan then discusses his encounters with the Worker. He talks about the Catholic Church and the changes that occurred in it during the 20th century. He discusses a retreat at the Catholic Worker farm in Easton, Pa. that he helped plan as well as a retreat with Father John Hugo. He discusses Hugo's impressions of the changes in the church including Vatican II and moves on to discuss Day's catholicism. Finally Tavani elaborates on Day and her perspective on the church. Interviewed by Rosalie G. Riegle. Interruptions in audio present in original recording; recording ends abruptly.
