After an introduction by Antonio Sandoval, Reverend Charles Helmsing briefly talks about the conference. Reverend Maurice Van Ackeren, then further discusses the purview of the conference. Rawson L. Wood then introduces Robert F. Kennedy who speaks over a phone connection from Washington, D.C. Kennedy talks about the conditions of poor African Americans in the United States, the church's role in working towards equality, and what must happen in the United States to assist the urban poor. A lengthy question and answer session follows his remarks.
