Aerial view of Vunakanau
Japanese occupied area of Vunakanau in New Guinea. This location is about 10 miles southwest of Rabual. Built by Australian forces during WWII it was also called "West Airfield". It was taken by Japanese forces in January 1942. (1943) [Conrad B. Jordan photo collection, PHO 57.0.64]
