Shrnutí:Eglise St-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, France. There has been a church at this site since the sixth century. St-Germain, archbishop of Paris, was buried in former church here in 576 A.D. The base of the tower of the present church dates from the eleventh century. The church was dedicated in 1163. The doorway is from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. The tower was completed in the twelfth century. There are two famous cafes across street, Les Deux Magots and Le Café de Flore, which were frequented by existentialist writers such as Jean-Paul Sartre. (September 1951)
