Cahill Director, Crocker Nuclear Laboratory University of California Davis, CA 95616 ABSTRACT The external proton milliprobe of the U.C. Davis cyclotron has been used to perform non-destructive tests of the elemental composition of the parchment and inks of the Vinland Map and presumably associated documents. A surprising result was that the amounts of Titanium predicted by the prior McCrone analysis were not found. The implications of these results will be discussed along with fUrther tests proposed for the Vinland Map and other maps of the era.
