| 545 | |a A Catholic brother who entered the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1962 and became a distinguished theologian, teacher and author. A student at St. Edward's University, he graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1966. After teaching high school in California for two years, he entered Fordham University, earning a doctorate in theology in 1975. He taught religious studies at St. Edward's University from 1973 to 1985, when he began a "new life" as an evangelist in hispanic communities. Released from his Holy Cross vows, he founded Los Hermanos de Juan Diego in East Austin and then went to live and work with his order in the Mexico City area, where the order is officially recognized by the Catholic Church. | ||
