Consists of 22 numbered poems on recto of leaf, each commemorating an event in the life of the Virgin, with numbered etchings on facing pages. Each sonnet has caption title with Arcadian pseudonym of priest-author followed by his name. Etchings of Marial scenes are by Francesco Polanzani from paintings by Nicolas Poussin. Preliminary leaf has portrait etching of the Virgin by Giovanni Ottaviani from a painting by Francisco Preciado de la Vega. |
