Report of the Committee on Ways and Means, in obedience to an order of the House of Delegates, : instructing that committee to report its opinion upon the sufficiency of the existing revenue to sustain the several propositions, involving charges upon the Treasury, now pending in the legislature--and, if deemed to be insufficient, to state the adequacy of the measures of finance proposed, and of others in the contemplation of the committee, to support the different objects of amelioration in question; and of further applying the resources of the state in such works of inter-communication, as may be deemed to comport with sound policy in reference to the due improvement of the general welfare. : L.D.
