| Item Description: | Individual sermons are celebrations of the beatification and canonization of St. John of Nepomuk in churches and brotherhoods in Vienna; all published in Wienn from 1728 to 1743; one oratorio is published in Crembs in 1729 (Ehren-Gerüst den 14. Augusti Anno 1729 in einem Oratorio vorgestellt) by Joh. Jac. Kopitz, Wieneris. Univ. privil. Buchdruckern, and the other (Ewige Sternen-Glorij deß Heiligen Ioannis Nepomuceni) in Brünn by Jacob Maximilian Swoboda in 1723. The 1723 Oratorio has a chronogram for 1723 in the title: eVVIge sternen-gLorIJ Deß heILIgen IoannIs nepoMVCenI. Bound together in modern cloth covers; part of a collection of 18th century Catholic sermons and religous texts, compiled by an antiquarian book dealer in Halle, Germany. Some sermons are closely cropped by binder's knife with slight loss of text and many page numbers. |
