Item Description:Originally written in Spanish by St. Ignatius of Loyola and given its official Latin translation by Juan Polanco. Cf. Backer-Sommervogel vol. V, 75.
Vol. 2 of the first complete edition of the constitution, rules, decrees, etc. of the Jesuits; the series entitled by Backer-Sommervogel the "Corpus Institutorum S. Iesu" and by New Catholic Encyclopedia as the "Institutum."
This genuine edition is identified by the spelling "Ioannem Mevrsivm" (with initial I and medial v's) in the publisher statement.
