Each part is numbered consecutively and has special t.p. and separate paging, except parts 21-22 and 23-24, which are double parts.
Work is divided into five "Bünde," Bund 1-4 with special t.p., Bund 1 comprising parts 1-8, Bund 2 parts 9-16, Bund 3 parts 17-24, Bund 4 parts 25-32 and [Bund 5] parts 33-36. In this 2nd ed. parts 37-38 form the second half of Bund 5.
Completed after Stöcklein's death by Peter Probst and Franciscus Keller.
The "Zeiger" or index which precedes each part and lists the letters contained in the same under world-region headings, facilitates the search for information concerning a specific part of the world, e. g., North America, South America, etc.
Includes German translations of letters originally published in the Lettres edifiantes.
