Green, a prominent businessman and leader of the Grand Lodge Colored Knights of Pythias, a black fraternal organization. It housed the Louisiana Weekly, the Negro Board of Trade, Green's Liberty Independent Life Insurance company, a bank, a theater and a rooftop garden where jazz legends like Louis Armstrong performed.
